
Our Story
We are a small family-run business producing artisanal biltong and meat snacks. Our journey began over 10 years ago when our founder, Oliver, first discovered biltong while visiting family in South Africa. He fell in love with the unique flavor and texture of this air-dried beef and was inspired to bring it back home to Sussex.
Oliver began experimenting with different cuts of local grass-fed beef in his home kitchen, slowly perfecting his drying and seasoning process. As word spread among friends and family, demand for his biltong grew rapidly. In 2008, we officially launched our business, using only the finest cuts of beef from small local Sussex farms.
Crafting Quality Biltong
Our biltong and meat snacks are made using traditional techniques that preserve freshness and flavor. We use quality cuts like silver-side, which we carefully trim and slice by hand. The beef then air-dries for days under precise temperature and humidity levels, intensifying the rich, beefy taste.
We use all-natural ingredients to add complementary flavors that make our biltong truly unique. No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives are ever used.
The end result is a shelf-stable, protein-packed snack that is both healthy and delicious. Our customers love its bold beefy flavor, chewy-yet-tender texture and convenience as a high-energy on-the-go snack.
Commitment to Our Community
We are proudly committed to supporting our local Sussex community. We source all of our beef from trusted family farms within 10 miles of our production facility. This not only ensures freshness and quality, but reduces our carbon footprint. We also collaborate with other area food producers, frequently featuring some of their products such as local cheeses and sauces in our gift baskets.
